I had great fun monitoring the shuttle launch last night with radio friends
over the internet and ham radio. We used various IM and social networking
applications plus a local repeater to coordinate and monitor Discovery's
launch. I only caught two frequencies active here in Savannah:

7.833 USB - Booster Recovery Net

   -BRD, CAPE RADIO, FREEDOM STAR

259.700 - Shuttle Air to Ground

-DISCOVERY, transmissions from "2 Engine Moron" to "Press to MECO"

Additionally, Dan-KF4MND fed NASA audio to the 147.330 repeater here in
Savannah which we used to monitor the launch. Close to launch time, I also
began pushing audio from 259.700 to my UStream feed (linked on my blog below
- I occasionally stream audio from the scanners with it).
