This was somewhat confusing as one of the tankers seemed to keep changing his call sign.
Beginning @ 1454Z : ASCOT 9330 [VC-10] w/ASCOT 9971-73 on 335.525 - AR
Beginning @ 1525Z : ASCOT 9321 [?VC-10] w/??RAYA 1-3 on 306.725 - AR
Beginning @ 1537Z : ASCOT 9331 [?VC-10] w/ASCOT 9974-76 [Harriers] on 292.000 - AR
Flt Paths:
ASCOT 9330 ZBW BOSOX sector => KINGSTON sector => ZNY Huegenaut sector
ASCOT 9331 ZBW BOSOX sector => KINGSTON sector => ZNY Huegenaut sector
ASCOT 9321 ZBW ALBANY sector => DELANCY sector [and looking for Niagara WX]
The tankers were fairly easy to distinguish when on the AR freqs, but when ASCOT 9321 and 9331 were talking to ATC, they were difficult to tell apart, especially since 9331 kept alternating btwn 9331 & 9321.
ASCOT 9971 flt had a female lead - I don't know aircraft type fur sure.
ASCOT 9974 flt sounded like it had an American pilot in the group - these were Harriers
??RAYA - I don't know who or what they were .... Spanish, Indian. The pilots were almost impossible to understand.
I presume that all three tankers were VC-10s
I could not find any interplane btwn fighters either.
