OK, help from you Navy/Marine air types.

Late Friday night Aug 29 I had 5G 350 working Boston ATC heading for Boston and descending to FL110 from FL240.  Don't know if he actually landed in Boston or not.  And I don't recall his saying 'NAVY' - just the tail code.

Anyway, I find listings for tail codes showing '5G' as MCAS Iwakuni base flight UC-12Fs.

I've done a lot of googling and I see that there are only a couple of UC-12s @ Iwakuni now and they both carry 'low viz' BuNos, but no '5G'

So, could this tail code have been assigned to someone else now - could this actually have been a UC-12F from Iwakuni - or am I probably nuts and mis-heard?

Direct replies appreciated - don't want to clutter the board with this.
