Your Gypsy c/s does tie up to a F/A-18 Super Hornet Squadron. We who work on them call them mickname them a "lawn dart." The Gypsy callsign has been used by the VFA-32 (CVW-3) the Fighting Swordsmen based at NAS Oceana.

Today I heard a horrendous roar, coming south from the airport. I turned-on my radio to hear "GYPSY 12," which returns to an F/A-18F Hornet. Sounded like a couple of them.

I wanted to know... is that a Super Hornet ? I tell you.. it was louder than Dallas.
