OT maybe, but what about Slim Pickens?  If you're trying to tell us that he just died, the 'net thinks he's been dead since 8 Dec 1983.

An interesting point that makes it at least *slightly* relevant is that Pickens is the actor who portrayed "Major Kong", the B52 pilot whose plane dropped a nuke on a Soviet missile site and triggered the Doomsday Machine in the movie "Dr. Strangelove, or how I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb".

If any of you have never seen "Dr. Strangelove", I highly recommend it - it's a black comedy about nuclear war that includes a great and funny performance by George C. Scott (didn't know he could be funny after seeing him in "Patton", I'll bet); Peter Sellers playing THREE different parts and a great cameo by Keenan Wynn.
