Hello Al & the group:

Thanks for the CAP COMMS posting Al --- with over 500 aircraft in its' fleet
(primarily Cessna 172's & 182's, and some GA-8's (reference:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_Air_Patrol ), there's a potential for a
lot of them flying around for proficiency practice, cadet orientation
flights, as well as real "Missions For America" (see CAPR 60-1, attachment
10 for types of missions authorized --
http://level2.cap.gov/documents/u_082503073227.pdf), as "Every Day Heros,
Every Day" (reference:
http://level2.cap.gov/visitors/history/vision_mission_statement/ ,
http://www.gocivilairpatrol.com/html/index.htm ).

I guess they still haven't gone yet to the "rumored" encryption88 with their
new equipment. BTW we had someone on a state specific general scannerland
group post (awhile back) observe in one CAP aircraft on public display,
indications that at least that CAP aircraft might have had military UHF aero
equipment installed. I've noted in your postings, that Larry's MT Airshow
Guide for 2007 http://www.monitoringtimes.com/mtairshow07.pdf reference
seems to indicate that CAP is using their older frequencies versus the
possible new ones. I don't recall anyone posting information on monitoring
any CAP UHF aero activity.

So again thanks Al for your posting of CAP aero communications activity in
your area!
