Keith and to the rest of the new people on this welcome.

Not to worry Keith your question is the kind that are welcomed here and why
I started this list over a decade ago (time flies fast when you are having
fun). ;-)

Since Duane covered the antenna side and did very well, I will address the
freq side for you. I have a few links for you to examine. First, to get an
overall feel for the HF spectrum go to the MT website a download MT's Quick
Guide to the Shortwave Spectrum PDF at
http://www.monitoringtimes.com/MT_Quick_Guide_to_the_Shortwave_Spectrum.pdf

Another area to investigate fully is the MT Reference Library at:
http://www.monitoringtimes.com/html/reference_library.html At this link you
will find a variety of material for many different radio monitoring
disciplines. At http://www.monitoringtimes.com/html/mttopHF.html you will
find my hot 1000 HF ute freqs. That should keep you busy monitoring all
sorts of goodies.

And if that isn't enough you will find all sorts of freqs (incluing my HF
Mil list) scattered around at my Milcom blog below. There is also some HF
stuff at my personal blog as well. Addresses in Sig Block. All the stuff
above is free. Guess I have been a bit busy over the last 15 years. ;-))))

As always I highly recommend a sub to Monitoring Times (available in paper
and electronic formats). We have stuff in there that you won't see anywhere
else. Columns devoted to HF broadcasting, ute listening, digital HF comms,
my Milcom column, Marine comms (to name a few), and our exclusive 24 hour
English only shortwave broadcast center section updated monthly makes MT a
good value. And if you are a subscriber you get access to the MT readers
only section that has even more material including my latest +25 page list
of HF Military freqs worldwide in a by freq format.

But be careful when trolling the net for other freqs. People throw stuff up
and then never update their list. Lots and I do mean a lot of bad material
on the net for HF freqs. Heck I ran across someone the other day with a list
showing SAC-TAC-MAC, that had 11176 list with MacDill. Need I say more. ;-)

73 and have fun in the HF spectrum. There is a world of stuff to hear.
