[MilCom] WAS KC-45 Bases; now F-117

Well, I like Jack's reply as being right on the mark.
While my comments about the communications side of it
were fairly minimal, they WERE there.
Aside from that, a point - perhaps it never occurred
to some people that the more that we know about "our
quarry", so to speak, the more likely we are to find
out WHEN and WHERE to listen, don't'cha think?
Or another way of looking at it - if we don't know
diddly squat about the aircraft and don't share what
we DO know (and feel comfortable with) then why are we
bothering to listen? That's like watching a pro
sports game on the TV and knowing nothing about the
sport.............
Do we go to airshows just to be so mentally tied up in
our scanners that we *miss* the show in front of us?
To me, being able to hear the performers falls under
the "value added" department.
As for "routine" listening, and the reporting on it
here, just what *IS* the point of the whole excercise?
Should I really believe that most of the folks here
who listen and report (or lurk, for that matter) are
totally clueless about the rest of the picture, like
the pilots, aircraft, operational matters, etc., OR is
it just remotely possible that monitors of military
communications just might like to know MORE beyond
what comes out of the speaker?
