FALLON, NV - There has been a plane crash near Middle Gate, Nevada,
about 50 miles east of Fallon. A spokesman for NAS Fallon tells us
that during training, an F-18 and an F-5 collided mid-air. The 2-man
crew of the F-5 ejected safely and have been transported to Banner
Churchill Hospital. The condition of the F-18 pilot is unknown at this
time.
The Nevada Highway Patrol says the wreckage is around mile marker 74
on Highway 50, about a half mile off the highway.
