Jet Team? Who needs a major jet team? For an airshow without a jet team it was very solid. Anchored by the F-22 Raptor demo, it was worth the 6 hours driving time Friday morning. This is the first airshow i've been to with 6 tactical demonstrations in one day. Pretty awesome. Since both F/A-18F demo crews were flying, one per day, on Friday i got to see two seperate Super Hornet practices. Folks, i don't care what Tomcat faithfuls say (i was a BIG Tomcat supporter too) but this aircraft is unbelievable. It's one of my favorite single ship demos out there. This aircraft has done some incredible maneuvers that would stall alot of others. Then the Raptor came along to blow that away. More on that later. It was good getting to see the Navy Legacy flight with the Super Hornet and an F4U Corsair. The Corsair couldn't practice on Friday due to blowing a tire upon landing.

The F-16CJ Viper demo was awesome too. It was good to see them get to use the high show for a change. The last time i saw them was at cloudy, dreary Smyrna. I love hearing an F-16 pilots voice on the radio. The Raptor demo was, well, amazing!! Lots of folks had their jaw dropping to the ground in bewilderment. Good job, Max!! I just hope that they are able to add another demo team and are able to showcase the jet to the smaller venues as well rather than go to the same ones over and over ie the larger markets. We're tax payers too!! The Heritage Flight consisted of the F-22, F-16, and P-51D piloted by Capt. Dale "Snort" Snodgrass (ret), the highest time F-14 pilot out there. It was moving as it always is. The other acts were awesome too, just too many to name. The collaborators were freakin cool, led by aerobatic extrodinare Sean D. Tucker.

The static dsiplay was unbelievable. One of the largest collection i've ever seen. I'll definitely be back next year. Thanks Dayton.
