[MilCom] Off topic: 777 crashlanding London Heathrow

Latest news on this crashlanding at 1242 GMT Thursday 17 Jan is that 
there may well have been a major failure with power and avionics loss, 
and the plane glided in. But, from an eyewitness report of engine noise, 
maybe they regained power just before the landing. Anyone got any 
information about this problem reported on any other 777?

Remarkable tribute to the design of the plane: only a few 'minor' 
injuries and no fire. Great skill by the aircrew to line it up with the 
runway and drop it onto the grass just over the fence.
