The 103FW at Bradley conducted there final flight with the last two remaining A-10s. I'm pretty
darn sure they took off using the callsign KILLER, but they were using MAKO when they returned.
Those were the two most commonly used c/s, but I was surprised they didn't use the 103FW static
c/s of SHARK.
They went up to Wheeler-Sack [and possibly landed], continued on thru the Yankee MOA and
eventually headed back to Bradley thru the ZBW Concord sector. They used 138.150 for A2A and
there were many greetings to family & friends back @ base on 138.550 SHARK OPS.
On their approach with tower, Lead announced "the last two Bradely A-10s on approach." I think
they did a couple of overhead breaks. I also think they originally wanted to buzz the field at
around 300 KTS, but I don't know what happened with that.
And with that, fighter activity will be very, very quiet until the 104FW get their F-15s up in the
air.
The end of an era ..... their A2A was always entertaining.
