All times are local (CDT). The last of the Smyrna
Airshow remnance departs and now back to the regular
scheduled programming: BOREDOM!!!! Meaning very few
"cool" planes on that elite spectrum: UHF!! One last
thing in noticed at the airshow: Who needs a UHF pair
for the Air Boss when all the aircraft (even the
military) have VHF capability? The last few shows
i've been to haven't even used a UHF pair since most,
if not all fighters are victor equipped. Even the
F-15's that do airshows have victor now.

passing departure message to Columbus AFB
(T-6A, 14th FTW, Columbus)
They reported 40 miles south of the Nashville VORTAC.
The callsign was definitely BADCAT as opposed to
Madcat. I bet this unit uses both callsigns. Looking
at the units at Columbus they could be either 37th FTS
(Bengal Tigers) or possibly the 43rd FTS of the 340th
FTG, AFRC (Spitten Kittens). Any ideas? We really
wouldn't know until we see the pilots and their unit
patches since the 340th FTG borrows planes from the
14th FTW as needed.
