Greetings everyone,
>From Regina, heard on 123.8, RESCUE 338 working with Winnipeg Centre. They
were doing an ELT signal search, somewhere over Manitoba. From the
conversation and the clearances, the location was somewhere in southern
Manitoba. All times UTC, evening of Apr 8/08 local date, Apr 9/08 UTC:
0410 UTC - RESCUE 338 requested and received a block altitude FL100 to
FL150 within a 30 mile radius of a point (which I did not hear). Winnipeg
Centre informed they were free to maneuver at their discretion.
0412 UTC - RESCUE 338 requested and cleared to FL090, and they will
maintain their present heading.
0418 UTC - RESCUE 338 requested and cleared to FL060, again on their
present heading.
0420 UTC - RESCUE 338 handed off to Winnipeg Arrivals 119.5. I lost them
at this point.
0427 UTC - RESCUE 338 handed back to Winnipeg Centre, now at 5000 feet. I
cannot tell which sector they are working on, since I am hearing this
through the Regina remote transceiver on 123.8. I'm guessing they are now
flying westward.
0433 UTC - RESCUE 338 cleared to heading 240.
0434 UTC - RESCUE 334 advised by Winnipeg Centre that the Rescue
Coordination Centre wants to talk to RESCUE 338, on the HF radio
That's all I've heard up until now. If I hear anything further, I will
post it. I don't have HF capability, perhaps someone else can hear them.
I am also assuming RESCUE 338 is a CC-130 aircraft.
Regards,
Rob
