Greetings everyone,
The SNOWBIRDS conducted their final performance of the season Sunday
evening. They flew a performance (not just a flyby, but a performance) to
open the Western Canadian Music Awards. The ceremony was being held at
Hangar 6 at CFB Moose Jaw. I did not know prior to the event that the
SNOWBIRDS were flying. Although I was a distance away, I did pick them up
using their normal air to air frequency of 272.1 for pre-show warm-up, and
for the show itself. I first heard them around 2230 UTC, with the show
starting somewhere around 2245 UTC. I do not know how long the show lasted
because I had to leave.
According to news media reports, this is the final show for the season. I
do expect some fly--bys though by the SNOWBIRDS for upcoming events, but I
don't have any information on that. The Grey Cup this year is in Toronto,
and being an indoor stadium I doubt we'll see a flyby there. :-)
