Few fly-bys at the Academy and T-Birds practicing for tomorrow's graduation
show.
289.40: THUNDERBIRD-1, flight of 4, (F-16, Nellis), doing familiarization
flights over the Academy and show practice. ((Didn't monitor their show freqs))
354.15: FURY-11, flight of 3, (B-2A, Whiteman), with Denver Center, in the
Block 330 - 340. Non-standard within 3. Switch 319.00 and 323.25. A/A:
388.85.
275.80: REDEYE-11, flight of 2, (F-16, Buckley), cleared Cheyenne MOA. (2
sorties)
275.80: STUD-21, flight of 2, (F-16, Buckley), cleared Cheyenne MOA. (2
sorties)
121.60: PAT-019, (C-26B, Buckley), cleared to Rifle, CO. ((Garfield County
Regional Airport; (KRIL))) Return later.
319.00: T-BOLT-1, flight of 2? (F-15, Mountain Home), with Denver Center,
Block
290 - 300; closing to standard. Descend to 270 and switch 379.95. Furthur
descent to 17,00 and switch Colorado Springs Approach, 239.025. Inbound for
fly-by at Air
Force Academy. Switch 289.40 with Scenic Control for the fly-by; then recover
at Colorado Springs. Takeoff later enroute back home. Outbound freqs were:
257.875, 251.075, 319.00, 306.90 and 316.125. ((Only heard 2 acft; may have been
more))
380.20: CADDO-58, (C-17A, Altus), with Colorado Springs Approach; inbound
for fly-by AF Academy. Switch 289.40 for the fly-by; then head back home.
380.20: DUSTY-1, (CV-22B), doing fly-by AF Academy. Never did hear him
on 289.40; and after the fly-by he appeared to be heading for Kirtland.
279.60: URGENT, (E-6B, Det Offutt), with GAMBA-10, (Warren AFB) and various
outstations. Operational comm checks.
322.50: FURY-11, flight of 3, (B-2A, whiteman), with Denver Center, in the
Block 330 - 340. Switch 307.10, 353.65 and 360.65.
275.80: RIVAL-51, flight of 2, (F-16, Buckley), cleared Cheyenne MOA.
372.20: VENUS-91,(C-32A, Andrews), wants a phone patch. No luck with it.
372.20: DILLON-2, (C-21A, CO-ANG), takeoff Colorado Springs.
289.40: THUNDERBIRDs 5 & 6 up doing familiarization flights in the Academy
area and trying to dodge t-storms going back in to Colorado Springs.
372.20: SMOKY-99, (C-21A, Peterson), land Colorado Springs.
