That is a major pet-peev of mine as well.  I realize that a lot of these pilots come to
air shows because they have family in the area however,  I think they also have an
obligation to show up at the air show!!  Many pilots bring their families to the show. 
I think if a pilot is bringing his plane to a show, it should be a requirement that
he/she be with the plane!
