What's up Adam,
Yeah, they self id'd as a flight of two Hornets W/Ctr.
And if you heard them they were nowhere near the F-16
sounding echo. Plus when the guys switched to Indy
Ctr i heard the lead reiterate the freq to his wingman
on 142.85
My guess is maybe these particular F-18's were
equipped with this band so they can talk to the NSWAC
Vipers during flights? Amd during this x-country they
chose VHF a/a rather than UHF. It shocked me but it
was those two Hornets.
