[MilCom] Updated Google Maps or Google Earth for On Scene Planning?

While checking my local area military bases at KCEF and KBAF this weekend, 
it looks to me like both these references that show pictures of the specific 
areas, are from the 2000 to 2001 time period which makes the pictures 6 to 7 
years old.    Does anyone know if a reference that is more up to date. 
Surely I can't complain because it is for "free", but just wondering what 
might also be available that is more up to date, either for free or for a 
subscription service.

This is always a great aid in planning some on scene monitoring operations, 
but 6 or 7 years old, things do change!!!
