Evening all, reading thru the posts, saw the msgs about the flr-9 so I went
to the web link and read thru it quick.
I saw the picture of the one that was at Clark AFB,. The 6922nd must have
come in later in the 60's because when I was there in 64 and 65 the 6925th
ran the
operation along with the 9th asa. Their barracks was right next to ours
which was just down the road from the dead ferris wheel.
I was in the 1961st comm group and worked at the receiver site (god what a
place, heaven on earth for a ham and swl'er) 200 R390's, 50 sp600's and 1
r388 at
ops console. the rest on my work time was at 13th AF command center.
It doesn't seem like it was that long ago that I was sweating my a** off
and drinking San Miguel.
dxing from the barracks with a Hallicrafters S120 and 300 foot wire on the
roof of the barracks.
