[MilCom] BANDs and fireworks

The CAP over Crawford has been quiet but last night around 11:00 pm local
BAND 03 and BAND 04 came up to chase a small plane. He seemed to be
headed away from the prohibited area and the chase was called off.

Shortly afterward, before the BANDs landed, they were again directed to
an intercept. Not clear if it was the same plane. It is common for small
planes to go up on New Years Eve to watch the fireworks.

This plane got some up close and personal. One BAND reported expending 
16 flares and the other 10. They followed it to a small airport and
watched it land.

Before midnight the BANDs got the call to RTB, probably to Ft Hood.
I do not recall hearing the BAND callsign here before. Don't know
where they are from.
