[MilCom] Halifax Mil question

I guess that's the difference between the "official" and common
designation. I still think of them as P3s and its my old squadron.

Most Canadians, even many of those who flew them still have a tendency
to call them P-3s, F-18s, C-130s, C-17s etc. The officials strive to
change the designation and name to make them appear "Canadian" just like
they try to forbid unapproved aircraft nicknames.

Dave,
who left before the P-3, but spent some time in RCAF P-2V Neptunes and
CP-107 Argus (which actually was a Canadian aircraft).
"DUCIMUS"
