You know, it could have been Stealth 81 Adam. That makes a bit more sense, I
thought the pronunciation was a bit odd.
Re RAGE and VFA25, most of the time they were using FIST 1,2,3,4 but a
couple of times there was a single F18 that recovered at Kingsley using the
callsign of RAGE 3. The only F18's that I saw flying or on the ground on
Saturday were marked VFA25 so that's why I listed that call under them. The
only prior RAGE callsign in my list was an F14 of VF24 back in 1994. Don't
know for sure as I couldn't ID the RAGE A/C.
Thanks for the clarification!

Great Report, Ron.
Interesting seeing VFA-25 use RAGE. Ass for the Nighthawk, Sure the
call wasn't STEALTH-81? That's the typical ACC flyby/participation
callsign and your Stealth-"ay" may've been an Eight.
Thanks Once Again,
Adam

Quick report on the participants, callsigns and a few freqs from the
Sentry
Eagle exercise at Kingsley Field. I watched the afternoon flights on
Friday,
Aug 10 and then went on base on the 11th to watch the morning and
evening
flights along with the mid-day demos.
Aircraft flying in the exercise included F15, F16, F18, C21, CH47 and
KC135R
The short demo period on Saturday included F15, F86, C23 and F117
Statics included F15, T38, C21 and T33 along with a few restored earlier
military aircraft.
The following is by no means complete but here goes:
Shadow Control 116th ACS, callsign "Shadow", are the local military
controllers.
Past freqs I have had for them are:
239.150
259.025
269.025
337.400
359.000
This year Shadow also used:
242.150
371.100
I had quite a few squadron AA freqs in the scanner but never heard
anything
on them. All the players seemed to be using their assigned Shadow freq
during the exercise and the regular UHF ATC freqs while at Kingsley and
in
transit.
Units participating were:
173rd FW / 114th FS (F15), Kingsley Field, OR
Callsigns: Cowboy, Rogue
131st FW / 110th FS (F15), St. Louis, MO
Callsigns: Mick
125th FW / 159th FS (F15), Jacksonville, FL
Callsigns: Snake
154th Wing / 199th FS (F15), Hickam AFB, HI
Callsigns: Stink, Maitai
144th FW / 194th FS (F16), Fresno, CA
Callsigns: Coja, Rock
115th FW / 115th OG (F16), Madison, WI
Callsigns: Trojan
VFA25 (F18C), NAS Lemoore, CA
Callsigns: Fist, Rage
141st ARW / 116th ARS (KC135R), Fairchild AFB, WA
Callsigns: Expo
119th FW, (C21), Fargo, ND
Callsigns: Nodak
Other participants that I don't have the units for:
2 F15's with "OT" tail code (Maybe Eglin AFB??)
1 T38 static display with "XL" tail code and "Red Bulls" tail stripe
1 C23 Sherpa from the Oregon Army National Guard
2 jumpers from the 125th STS based in Portland (jumped from the Sherpa)
On Saturday they did an F15 demo using a Kingsley F15 piloted by a
member of
the West Coast F15 demo team. Thought they would bring their own bird
but I
guess not. The F15 then teamed up with an F86 owned and flown by Steve
Hinton for a heritage flight.
Saturday afternoon saw a flyby by an F117. He flew at the Hillsboro, OR
airshow, went up and tanked, did 4 or 5 passes at Kingsley and then
took a
clearance to Abbotsford, BC. Callsign was Stealthy 1 (pronounced
Stealth-ay)
and the narrator said he was from Holloman AFB.
Anybody have any info to add (or correct....) please jump in.
