Very interesting article. I would think that they are using a digital
downlink rather than analog, perhaps even some encryption so the typical
radio scanner won't be able to decode it. Interestingly at one of the
past KCEF shows, when the Mass State PD helo was beaming down video to the
command post, there was a VERY discreet radio hobbyist on the flight line
who called me over and showed me the video being beam down. I think that
the state converted now to a digital/encryption downlink so this isn't
possible anymore BUT at some airshows with state/county aero resources being
used it still might be possible.
