Excel is good, but expensive.
OpenOffice "Calc" is FREE, compatible with files done in Excel...

I have an open question to the group. And my apology if this has been asked
before.
By what means do you log milcom?
Do you use Excel or Word, or some other similar program? Do you prefer to
hand write on paper or record first with computer software and then log. If
you are using a spreadsheet, what headings are you using. Do you group your
logs in a specific manner, i.e. by time, or frequency, or aircraft? Maybe
posting some samples for others to see might be helpful to others.
Me, I have used several methods to make my logs. Currently (because my
monitoring is limited), I've just been putting pen to paper in a date order
keeping it in a spiral notebook. I find that Excel is probably my preferred
method, as it is so versatile, you can have multiple tabs to cover
different months if you so choose or you can make a tab for your call signs
or tail numbers. I a sample file of what I've done in Excel of anyone would
like to see, let me know and I'll email you direct. Would also be interested
to see what others have done with there logs.always looking for new and
better ways to log.
Thanks for everyone's time and happy listening,
