Civil Air Patrol's Annual Report to Congress CY 2006 was recently posted to
the their website:
http://www.cap.gov/documents/2006_CAP_Annual_Report_To_Congress_lorespdf.pdf

There's lots of summary information in this report (48 pages) and a
"careful" reading of the report will provide some "surprises" into the aero
operational mission aspects of CAP.

Presently CAP continues to operate on the following freqs until 9/30/07:
148.125 Repeater & simplex
148.15 Repeater & simplex
148.1375 Simplex (ground teams)
149.5375 Simplex (air to ground)
Common CTCSS 100.0 on all simplex freqs, with different CTCSS's for repeater
sites.

Additionally CAP continues to be one of the largest users of the Intersquad
low power UHF radios (396-400 mhz)

Remember that CAP is transitioning to nine new VHF frequencies (2 new
repeater outputs, 1 repeater input, 6 simplex frequencies). Sources
indicate that at least two of CAP previously authorized new frequencies will
be changed due to Mexico border coordination issues.

"Monitoring Times" magazine March 2007 edition list all of the old & new CAP
frequencies. Also as a courtesy to the monitoring hobby they recently
posted the information to support the monitoring hobby. See:
http://www.monitoringtimes.com/mtairshow07.pdf

CAP starts to distribute the new repeaters & other radio equipment in April
2007, so new frequency usage testing is possible.

Should prove an interesting challenge to identify all new frequencies in use
in various geographic areas, as well as the designations assigned to those
specific frequencies (frequency output repeater/simplex), ctccs/dcs, & mode
(NFM or Digital)!!!
