Starting about 9:30AM Local
FLYER 1 with ZNY on 338.30
9:35 - FLYERs switch ZOB-Wayland on 353.85 and check in at 16,000 Feet.
They ask if there is a STEEL 71 in the area and tells center that they will
be using the DUKE until 18:30Z (10:30AM EST).
9:43 - FLYERs asking if the tanker is heading West (353.85) and if he is on
301.60.
9:49 - STEEL 71 calling FLYER Flight on 259.40 (DUKE Secondary), he called
it AR Primary. No Response from FLYER.
9:52 - STEEL 71 calling FLYER Flight on 259.40, No Response From Flyer...I
think he should try 301.60.
9:55 - STEEL 71 again trys the 259.40, No Joy and Goes Over to 301.60 and is
able to contact the FLYERs. STEEL 71 tells them that the work will be on
259.40, FLYERS switch over and make contact on that that freq. The FLYERs
are going to do one more fight and then will meet up with the tanker.
Normally I can hear them doing their dogfights but since there is only two
of them the FLYERS may be using their FM Low Freqs which I can pick up only
if I'm lucky.
9:59 - FLYER 1 to STEEL 71, they are weapons safe and nose cold. They're
requesting 2,000 LBs each. STEEL is at the CP and are in a left hand turn
towards the East (259.40).
10:00 - FLYERs are at 15,000 feet and are headed towards the CP from the
South (259.40).
10:01 - FLYERs have STEEL in sight at their left hand 9 O'Clock position
(259.40).
10:02 - FLYERs and STEEL working on join-up, confirming speeds (259.40).
10:04 - FLYER 1 cleared to contact (259.40).
10:06 - FLYER 1 is done, FLYER 2 coming in (259.40).
10:07 - FLYER 2 is done...he got 2,000 LBS.
10:08 - STEEL 71 requests a practice separation with FLYER 2 (259.40).
10:08 - FLYER 2 come in for contact. And then the separation is called out
by the boom operator.
10:09 - The FLYERs will be departing the airspace and STEEL 71 will stay
above 16,000 until they are cleared out before they do their maneuvers.
10:10 - FLYER 1 with ZOB on 353.85 and state that they will be headed back
to Willow Grove.
