It is Wed, 11:28am EDT (1528z).
A short while ago Patrick C-130 "King 70" departed Patrick AFB, cleared to
KCEW (Crestview); although Ground read the destination as KCEW, I think that
Crewstview may only be a waypoint, and the destination might be Moody AFB or
one of the panhandle bases. Maybe someone will hear him approaching and
find out the answer.
Upon departure, King 70 had comms with Patrick's "Beach Ops" on 311.0.
For the past couple of months, Beach Ops has been active on that freq; some
acft still contact Base Ops on 372.2. Not sure what the function of Beach Ops
is yet. His handoff sequence was 133.75, 132.65, 124.8, 134.0.
At about the same time King 70 departed here, FAB 61, a C-130 of the
Bolivian Air Force, landed at Patrick on one of his frequent visits here.
Typically he will leave here this afternoon and head to Opa Locka A/p. Inbound
freqs were 132.65, 133.75.
At the moment NASA 956, a T-38, is landing at Cape Canaveral AFS; he was
just handed off to the CCAFS tower on 118.625.
NASA 4 was also aloft.
Jacksonville NAS VP-5 P-3C "Madfox 04" is working offshore.
Also USAF contractor flight "Air Transport 540" arrived at Patrick from
downrange visits; used VHF ATC freqs as usual.
