A very good question.
Remember within the last month, an airline took some `crazy lady' off a
flight? I was reading the story - she was mumbling about terrorism and
wouldn't be quiet. IIRC, the plane had some assistance, in the form of
F-15's, in landing.
Her luggage was gone through and was found to contain all sorts of
things that were being screened for at the airport (none of them
explosive). It was revealed that the lady had gone through screening
twice before boarding the plane because she looked suspicious.
I don't know about you, but I think there needs to be a Plan B.
Screening is proving to be rather unsuccessful. According to the
reports, you can dress like a muslim, wear a t-shirt that says TERRORIST
on it, stencil C4 on your bag, then get waved past the screeners and
wished a nice day. Mind you, they threw an orthodox jew off a plane
last week for praying.
Meanwhile, imagine traveling by plane. You're minding your own business
when you look out the window and see F-15's on both sides of the plane.
At this point you're probably thinking `Now would be a good time to
panic.'
