Hello Gil & the group:
Allegdly this is a cross band repeater located on Wachusetts Mountain,
Princeton, MA. (http://www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/central/wach.htm) According
to Scanner Master's "Southern New England Communications Guide", 10th
edition, this repeaters the 5 Low Band VHF repeaters (49.XX) located in
Boston, South Shore, Western Mass, Berkshires, & Central Mass zones.
Based upon, very current available internet research it's unclear on whether
the MA Army National Guard will be able to retain this frequency for
crossband usage during rebanding effective which will become mandatory on
January 1st, 2008.
The MA Army National Guard has used Sprint/Nextel in the past BUT many years
ago one "source" indicated that because it didn't have statewide capability,
so although it may be used for administrative purposes, it isn't the prime
radio support method for operations. It is possible that MA ARNG
"specialized" units & selected unit commander's have MA State PD 800 mhz
Trunking Radios and may have a separate talkgroup (statewide) on the
statewide system.

Heard 86 do a radio check with 51. "86 to 51 for a PCS portable rado check".
Thought this was interesting checking out a PCS portable. I have this listed
as the Mass National guard repeater.
