Passbook is one of the P-3 tactical callsigns, Ed; like Cardfile and Quartet
and some others on the east coast (the West coast has some other P-3
tactical callsigns). Passbook is not associated with any particular base or
squadron. I am able to hear the P-3s on both HF and UHF sometimes and will hear them
ID by their acft callsign in addition to their tactical callsign, but that
was not the case today with PASSBOOK 65. In the past tho, I have heard the
callsign used by both Jax birds and Brunswick birds.
Today PASSBOOK started out passing his Spare Group messages to Fiddle TSC at
NAS Jax and then began to pass them to Goldenhawk TSC at NAS Brunswick when
Fiddle did not respond.
