One of the busiest Mondays in memory. B-1's all over the place.
372.20: JOSA-124, (C-21A), takeoff Colorado Springs.
372.20: JOSA-023, (C-21A), calling Buckley Ops, but not hearing Buckley's
answer.
225.40: HAMBONE-23, flight of 2, (B-1B, Ellsworth), with Denver Center.
Switch 317.55 with no joy. Faded out finally. ((Called himself HAMBONE, but had
the same xmtr characteristics and flight path as other BONE aircraft))
317.55: BONE-12, ?flight of2?, (B-1B, Ellsworth), with Denver Center, FL
270. Switch 360.65.
379.95: BONE-21, flight of 2, (B-1B, Ellsworth), with Denver Center, in the
Block 250-260. Switching 371.85, 317.55(No joy), and 133.95
((All seem to be heading into Kansas. 377.00 A/A active, but not using
callsigns))
239.025: CRANKY-1, (F-16, AR-ANG), land Colorado Springs. Took off later,
but lost him in all the other activity.
291.675: TULSA-91, (F-16C, OK-ANG), land; then on to Hill.
372.20: JOSA-608, (C-21A), calls.
291.675: ANIMAL-1, flight of 2, (F-16, WI-ANG), land; then on to Luke.
349.20: HOIST-93, (KC-10, McGuire), just caught the tail end of a WX
request. He is towing fighters with him. Apparently just finished an AR, as the
flight is breaking away.
372.20: JOSA-061, (C-21A), takeoff Colorado Springs.
319.00: FIRST-41, flight of ??, (F-22A, Langley), with Denver Center. FL 310
and climbing to 390. Not having any luck at all with Center on 319.00, so go
128.375. Back and forth between the 2 freqs and finally get further climb to
430. Sounds like they are climbing out from an AR and may be related to HOIST
above. The 128.375 freq kind of rules out F-15's.
291.675: BIRD-13, (S-3B, VS-33, North Island), land; then on to North Island.
291.675: CAMELOT-91, (F/A-18E, VFA-14, Lemoore), land; then on to Lemoore.
306.90: PUGET-90, (EA-6B, VAQ-129, Whidbey), with Denver Center, FL 280.
Switch 327.80 and request direct Grand Junction.
354.15: PUGET-91, (EA-6B, VAQ-129, Whidbey), with Denver Center, FL 280.
Switch 319.00 with no luck; so go 306.90 and 327.80. Also headed for Grand
Junction.
((DC Controller on 319.00 is either deaf or hates the military. Never answers
anybody's calls. A few other Center freqs like that also today))
291.675: PASSWORD-27, (C-2A, VRC-30, North Island), land; then on to North
Island.
121.00: NASA-864, (T-38N, Dryden), land.
121.00: PAT-938, (UC-35A, Fort Bragg), land; then on to Salem, OR.
372.20: JOSA-023, (C-21A, Peterson), land Colorado Springs.
263.00: ZINGER-1, ?flight of 2?, (Unk), with Denver Center, FL 430. Switch
276.40(No joy), 306.90 and 316.125.
372.20: ROCK-18, (C-130, Willow Grove), land Colorado Springs.
251.25: SMOKY-12, (C-21A, Peterson), calling SMOKY OPS and SMOKY-15. ((Not
sure what he's trying to accomplish on this freq, since it's Airburst Range
freq. Finally wised up and went to 283.75.))
319.00: FELIX-102, (F-14D, VF-31, Oceana), Switch 354.15. Sounds like
possibly more than one in the flight. Probably heading home from Fallon.
317.55: BONE-15, flight of 2, (B-1B, Ellsworth), with Denver Center, in the
Block 27-280. A/A is 377.00.
317.55: BONE-26, flight of 2, (B-1B, Ellsworth), with Denver Center, FL 260.
Descended to 17,000 for a while; then back up to 260.
349.20: JOSA-XXX, (C-21A Peterson), discussing developing t-storms in the
Colorado Springs area with Peterson Metro. ((Hope he got on the ground OK, as
the t-storms became tornadic))
