[MilCom] Cellphones Replace Phone Patches for Military Aircraft?

It appears to me that may times when military aircraft are on the ground
instead of using the command post frequency or base ops for that matter,
they are electing to call directly to the command post or base operations OR
the appropriate commander or operational department/section via cellphone
directly. I don't think that this cellphone calling is done while the
aircraft are airborne BUT there may have been some unofficial tests done
with certain aircraft in the pattern.

Anyone else noted this in their radio monitoring/operations area?
