Today, I managed to hear a first for me: helicopters controlling
intercepts for fighters. The Sea King ASaC.7s, BEE STING, that
Al Stern heard earlier this week were up today controlling
intercepts for the 125 FW F-15As. I was thoroughly confused
by helicopters controlling intercepts until I looked up the
ASaC.7 online this afternoon and discovered that it was an
Airborne Early Warning platform. Fascinating stuff... Anyway,
my notes from their activity is below:

339.700 Sealord Discrete; FANG, SNAKE wkg BEE STING
for intercepts and wkg DRAGON to pass kill calls
                 to ATTIC, NIKEL
234.800 125 FW Aux 6; FANG a2a
253.700 125 FW Aux 7; SNAKE a2a
349.800 W-157 Discrete; ATTIC 75-78 and NIKEL 31-34 wkg
DEUCE (MACS-2) for GCI and wkg DRAGON to pass
                  kill calls to FANG, SNAKE
234.800 VMFA-122 Tac 1; NIKEL a2a
326.700 VMFA(AW)-332 Tac 1; ATTIC a2a
