[MilCom] MacDill AFB ATIS being received in Sunrise (Fort Lauderdale), Florida!

This is a first for me.I'm setting up the scanner for another day of airshow
monitoring and doing 225-400 searches. The scanner has stopped on a solid
signal on 270.1.and I'm listening to MacDill AFB ATIS (Information
November)! I have 2 bars of signal strength on a 396 with my attic-mounted
225-400 Mil Surplus discone and LMR400 cable. Ain't radio wonderful?!

 

Microsoft Streets and Trips indicates a line-of-sight distance between me
and MacDill as being 178 miles.
