My goodness Dennis, uh, YoCuz. That was quite a cross post (three groups).
I can tell its is that time of years again. This has happened every year
since I founded this list. Death, taxes, airshow, hurricane and major
incident freq request. Well for what I know will be many many times this
airshow season, here weeeeeee gooooooo -- a little more pull!!!
> Anyone know of a complete list of Blue freqs?
A complete list, yes the Blues have that. And if you like I can point you to
a doxen websites on the internet that have dozens of freqs that will make
your fingers tired punching them into your scanner. But you won't hear most
of them, unfortunately.
We here at Monitoring Times publish an annual airshow issue (Ken Wyndka
referred to it in his post in our March issue). You can still purchase a
single copy on the newstand or by calling the MT office (see website). You
can also get an electronic copy from the office. If you want to wait we
will be putting the complete article on our website
(www.monitoringtimes.com), but we do that after the month it was published
as a courtesy to subscribers and those that purchase their copies that keep
us folks employed. We have last year's article on the website right now that
has most of the Blues and others airshow freqs (yes there was changes this
year). And yes, we do not charge for access to our Monitor Reference
Library. It is free!!!
Unlike 95% of the list on the internet or passed around these newsgroups I
don't have list as big as a book with old junk that was never valid to begin
with or has been changed. The major disappointment I have with some of the
folks in this hobby who rush to post such list (and yes I understand some
wanting to be helpful), is they have never monitored what they are posting
(they just collect freqs) and they don't know when to throw away a frequency
or callsign.
Several years ago I had one individual who posted to this group a list of
old HF freqs for the hurricane hunters. When I pointed this out to him that
no one would hear anything on some of the freqs on the list he responded by
saying, "well maybe that will encourage others to monitor." Sorry I don't
see how posting old freq you won't hear anything on except background static
is going to make you want to monitor more. Duh!
So just for you Dennis here is a list of active Blue Angel freqs that have
been reported or we have monitored in the last two years ONLY! My only
request is that you get back with us on this list and let everyone know what
you heard even if it is on our airshow list. We are working on seeing what
sort of pattern the teams have in freq usage at various show across the
country as we do track usage at individual shows. And I ask anyone attending
any airshow this year report to this list what you heard during the show
(thanks Bill T and Mike C for getting things started this year).
And the Blues UHF freqs -- 237.800 251.600 255.200 264.550 265.000
275.350 284.250 289.800 (Aerial Refueling) 299.650 302.100 <Fat Albert
Secondary> 305.500 <Fat Albert Primary> 346.500 (Maintenance) MHz.
Bill Truscott listed the following active at the Mather gathering: 163.0
237.8 255.2 275.35 284.25 305.5 364.5. Hey Bill I bet that 364.500
freq you listed should have been 346.5, right? 364.5 is a US Army discrete
and shouldn't have BA activity on it, so please Bill let us know for sure
before it ends up on a bunch of internet website list. It has already been
passed on three or four newsgroups ;-)))
So as always we appreciate all who post here. There are a lot of other
regional and local list on Yahoo that wish they could be as good as this
list, but there is only one that tops them all -- Milcom.
73 all and good hunting de Chief.
