[MilCom] Log: Alexandria, Louisiana 21st March 2006

Noted today at Alexandria, IAP (AEX), Louisiana:

C-17A 95-0103 y/bl  437th AW 315th AW in/out as "WANDO 37"
UH-60A 88-26062 JRTC overflew as "ARMY  26062"
MH-6? x2

The two MH-6's (AH-6?, they had rocket pods on them) arrived  unannounced, 
well I didn't hear them on the scanner, parked behind the C-17,  were folded up 
and loaded for a flight to Fort Campbell using the same callsign.  Thanks to 
Mark IVO Charleston for the callsign confirmation. I sounded like  either WANDO 
, WANDA or WANDER.

One the radio:
 
1025L "WANDO 37" C-17A (95-0103) 437th AW on AEX  TWR 127.350 inbound, later 
depart to Fort Campbell, KY.

1030L "BEVIS 1-2" OA/A-10A 47th FS 917th Wing  BD on AEX TWR 269.200 
overshoot then to Clairborne range on  298.6. Didn't get the A2A as I'd forgotten I 
had them all locked out.

1055L "COAST GUARD 2121" HU-25A USCGS  Mobile calling DERIDDER FS 122.550 has 
unserviceable comms, pass  message to home station in 251 area code (Mobile, 
AL)

1102L "BEVIS 1-2" OA/A-10A 47th FS 917th Wing  BD on CLAIRBORNE RANGE 298.600 
 #2 has unsafe gun, req RTB  Barksdale

1103L "KILO 26"  probable UH-60 below JRTC on  AEX TWR 269.200 

1106L "CAJUN 1-7" A-10A 906th FS AFRC  NO calling 47th FS CP "DOGPATCH" 
383.300. Passing info.... flight  of 7, 10 minutes out. All code 1. And mentions 
that he'll have to straighten his  hair out before he lands.

1254L "ARMY 26062" UH-60A JRTC AEX  TWR 127.350 to 123.7 Esler Field (ESF)

1318L "SCALP 93" B-52H 93rd BS 917th Wing  BD on POLK APP 261.300 req direct 
Barksdale >299.6 >327.0  >tower
 
The CAJUN flight was the transfer of A-10's from the 706th FS at New  Orleans 
to the 94th FS at Barksdale. Unfortunately he didn't pass the tail  numbers.
