[MilCom] Signal Mystery 243.00!

I forwarded this to a scanner friend and this is what his reply was.

There are several satellites that listen on that freq for any signals.. 243.000.... ALL military aircraft have a seperate radio that is ALWAYS on that freq. They can use it but MUST limit each transmission to less than 10 seconds... Anything over 10 seconds and the  satellites <SP> lock in on the signal and emergency personal are sent to find it...I did some research on that freq. a while back.... It must be a birdie he is hearing or the Gov. would be all over it....   Interesting, my BC895 does not get a birdie there but I DO get one on 121.500...
