Hi all,

Going back to the 22nd of June 2006, one visitor at Alexandria IAP:

Mi-17 01192 US Army as "ARMY 192" (serial read off)

No scanner logs recently. I've been having trouble hearing things clearly.
It may be the "typer" or the speaker;>)

I took a detour today on my way home from work to check on things at Lake
Charles Channault. I hadn't been since the hurricanes and so was interested to
see what was left. Most of the hangars have no doors although work is still
going on inside a few of them . There was only one E-8 (JSTARS) in a hangar
that I could not ID. Question. Which one was damaged in hurricane Rita? (0043
below??) About half of the hangars were in process of being rebuilt from the
frame up.

Outside and stored near the tower are:
EC-18B 81-0891 stored 412th TW marks
EC-18B 81-0894 stored 412th TW marks
E-8C 96-0043 116th ACW "Georgia"
UH-1H 65-9762 "IN NG" (noted before)
UH-1H? 0-1??4? (new) "USAR" on tail, serial badly faded. Anyone?
plus only about four A300's, I presume the other 4-5 that were here have
been scrapped.

Still stored in the mid-field:
EC-18 81-089x stored 412th TW marks no tail (either 892, 895 or 896?)

At the Louisiana Tech College "SOWELA" and stored outside was:
UH-1H 65-09751 GIA

All the colleges aircraft (the others are all civilian types) are outside as
the college hangars and buildings took a beating in the hurricane. All
classes are still being held in "FEMA Trailers."

On the visitors ramp next to the stored EC-18's:

UC-12B 161320 5T Miramar ( i wrote it as ST, doh!)
T-1A 91-0102 RA 12th FTW red fin
T-1A 93-0650 VN y 71st FTW 32nd FTS grey
T-1A 93-0655 VN r 71st FTW 32nd FTS
T-1A 94-0130 VN r 71st FTW 32nd FTS
T-1A ? VN y 71st FTW 32nd FTS grey
T-1A ? VN r 71st FTW 32nd FTS
T-6A 165965 F-965 TAW-6

Another "quick" 100 mile detour to Lafayette Regional resulted in no
visitors and only long term residents:

PV-2 (N6853C) stored
PV-2 N6857C stored
Jet Provost T.3 XM408 fire department trainer

The Jet Provost has been hacked badly by the fire department since I last
saw it. After a nice chat with the guy in the fire department, I went and
photographed in and confirmed the serial from the plate in the cockpit. It is due
to be scrapped very soon. Can anyone lend me a trailer as it would look great
in my front yard?
