Actually 134.100 is much more than a CP freq as some have indicated. It is
in fact a general DoD mil assignment within the civilian aero band.
>From my Military Frequency Directory, this frequency is used for a wide
variety of usages within DoD. This includes:
Air Traffic Advisory, Ground Controlled/Approach Control, Precision Approach
Radar, Clearance Delivery, Metro, Range Control/Warning Special Operating
Area Control, Tower, Base Operations, Command Post, Pilot-to-Dispatcher
(PTD), and a Southcom Flight Monitoring Facility (FMF) discrete.
I have 52 known assignments on this frequency (all from official sources nd
re cently updated) and I see only five Command Post, all AMC. These are
located at Dover AFB, MacDill AFB, Pease International Trade Port, Joint
Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, and McChord AFB.
Nothing from Andrews on any list I have, of course it may have been at one
time, but I routinely delete frequencies that are no longer valid. Pax River
uses this one for GCA (at least as far back as the early 90s) so I doubt
very seriously that Andrews is or was using it as a CP. GCA and CPs do not
mix. Many years ago this one was IDed as a military GCA common and today,
the bulk of the activity is still that function, but it is not nationwide as
indicated in several older publications.
Down here in our neck of the woods Michael we have the following:
Fort Rucker/Cairns AAF AL Metro
Fort Benning/Lawson AAF GA Base Operations/Pilot-to-Dispatcher (PTD)
Robins AFB GA Pilot-to-Dispatcher (PTD)
Take your pick.
73 all and good hunting,
