Remember those UHF 1/2 watt radios that the USMC originally got from ICOM

So who are the user?:
*Well Civil Air Patrol bought & distributed 3000 units in Nov 2003 to its'
various wings.
*The US Marine Corps bought quite a few, BUT may have switched to other more
rugged equipment.
*The US Army actually went with a VHF high band radio with more power, so I
don't think they have any

There's been some rumors that the ARNG & AR Reserve are using ISR equipment,
but I haven't seen/heard any use in my area. I do know that in the past
some MA ARNG units were using FRS radios.

*US Navy?? (no idea!!)
*US Air Force? (USAF allows FRS radios to be used in non critical mision
support roles, so perhaps the ISR's just aren't needed) I'd lump the Air
National Guard & Reserves as also NOT using ISR's.
*US Coast Guard? Doubtful.

Perhaps during this years airshow season more ISR usage will be found.
Personally, other than CAP I wouldn't expect to find very much usage BUT at
least put the frequencies in your scanner for "potential" usage.
