Subject: [MilCom] USN Radio Comms Lebannon?

CNN ran a video segment showing the USS Nashville (
http://www.nashville.navy.mil/default.aspx )arriving in Cyprus
http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/07/19/lebanon.evacuation/index.html
One of the officers on the dock has a portable radios that had a very large
rubber duckie gain type antenna. I'm assuming that this ship using a UHF
system however it isn't listed on the M/A Comm site as having a trunked
type radio system
http://www.macom-wireless.com/hydra/roster.asp perhaps it's a VHF highband
system still?

BTW Does anyone know if any lives feeds of scanner transmissions are being
transmitted from the Beruit Lebannon or Nicosa (port) Cyprus areas?

Ken
