The /I (stated as "slant India") refers to the aircrafts equipment
capability. In this case it would be an F/A-18 equipped with LORAN,
VOR/DME, or INS, transponder with Mode C. All of the equipment codes
are listed on page 4-6 in the DoD FLIP General Planning publication:
