Hi Ken...

Happy New Year to you and the others on this list. Being one of those
'lurkers', I think you're right. The time for me to do more than
troll this list for info is here...

I beat you to it, in a way. Late Saturday night, while waiting for
the ball to drop, I grabbed the laptop and started to create a
programming file for two of my Milair-capable scanners. I started
pulling together frequencies with some of your recent logs, along with
John Boynton, Bill Jasset, and Jim Creamer. You guys are all in my
general area (central Massachusetts), so I figure this is a good way
to start. I also set up some scanning banks on two other Milair
scanners in the shack, and started searching last night. Got 62 hits
between the two scanners, but unfortunately, the PC didn't record the
audio, due to a mistake on my part.

Anyways, while in the car today, and in the shack for 2.5 hours last
night, I heard nothing. Nada. I know the antennas and radios are
fine, as a check showed I'm picking up quite a bit. I think it may
have just been quiet. No entirely, but I came on a couple exchanges
on 138.975 and couldn't ID them, as well as one quick comm with Otis
Ops on 282.200, but that was also quick.

So, my search will continue, and I'll try to start out slow, with one
post per week on my logs. I plan on posting a separate question to
the list regarding mobile scanning, and hopefully I get some of those
kinks worked out.

Here's a good year!

Brian
