Hi Everyone
Please find below a summary of the movements i have recorded [with immense help & support from Allan Penman] on the UK Flamborough East & West tracks for 2005. The frequencies monitored were 249.775 [Primary] & 300.125 [Secondary].
2005 was overall a much better year for movements, both tracks up 105% on the previous year due to the continuing conflict in Iraq and it's need for the many types of support the conflict requires. As in previous years, the primary users of the tracks are C17s, various types of RC135s and a number of C135/E4s carrying VIPs etc to the area.
2005 Summary:
97 movements [up 105%] and used every month [a first] with 30 on the East Track, 65 on the West Track & 2 unaccounted. Allan and myself both believe there were more movements than recorded on the tracks using other frequencies. These are broken down as:
34 [?37] x C17s [all using Reach Callsign]
28 x RC135s [24 Snoop & 4 Cobra]
8 x E3s [Sentry]
7 x E4s [Clone, Culpa, Stony, Hiper & Roder]
7 x C135C [Trout]
4 x KC10s [Reach]
2 x B2s [Fury ex Holbeach April]
1 x B52 [Scalp ex Leuchars Show]
1 x C5 [Reach]
1 x OC135B [Open Skies 12T]
3 x Reach Callsigns un-identified type ?C17s
Refuelling on the tracks was carried out by tankers using the Quid callsign except 5 flights [3 x Reach KC10s & 2 x Fueller KC135s]. Their were 10 separate occasions when refuelling was carried out by 2 x KC135s with the receivers being E4s, C17s, B52, B2s & C135C.
I hope the above information shows the people of Filey [the town with the largest number of UFO sightings recorded in the UK] that their is more than UFO activity occurring above their town on a very regular basis!
I hope you find this information interesting, should you wish to receive a detailed list of all the movements, serials etc please do not hesitate to contact me. May i wish you all a very happy and peaceful New Year.
