Knowing the owner of that site, Lindsay Blanton, I don't believe that
is the case at all (the visits from three letter agency). It all boils
down to local, county, and state info is FCC public knowledge,
and very readily accessible. It also sort of defeats a systems
admin argument that their TALKGROUPS ought to be private,
when their FREQUENCIES are available on the FCC website.
On the other hand, federal and milcom frequencies are NOT
readily available, or in the public domain, and to my knowledge,
still considered classified in all, or many regards. Most info that has
been compiled has NOT been from official sources, but rather,
very dedicated hobbyists, much to the chagrin of some in federal
law enforcement and the military who feel threatened and disturbed
by the thought of some radio hobbyist (and taxpayer that is funding
their operation - I might add) is listening in to them. Of course, if Dubya
had his way, we'd probably all be labeled a terrorist because we like to
listen to our scanners, and shortwave ute frequencies. We're the radio
evildoers, you know....God forbid we would want to know what's
going on in our community and government....
