CBS network will be airing at 2100 hrs local the movie "Sum of All Fears",
based upon Tom Clancy's fictional book.
CIA tries to stop terrorists who are planning a nuclear attack....

Even Clancy's fictional books are based upon some factual information, so
this will be an interesting movie to watch.
If I remember correctly this is the movie where they hide the nuclear device
in a beverage dispensing machine...

BTW 'Reader Digest' Jan 2006 edition, Keeping America Secure series has an
excellent article about how important it is for us to focus on a nuclear
type weapons attack vs chemical or biological weapons, especially ensuring
that USSR nuclear stockpiles are secure.

Some fairly good references to read (Nuclear Emergency Support Team):

I would imagine that communications wise, they are now using those small
portable satellite phones as
well as some tactical radio comms on the typical US Government VHF/UHF bands
which probably
are encrypted. I'd also think that digital cellphones (perhaps
Sprint/NEXTEL) would be in use.
Surely the military would play a very important role in transporting the
teams, and perhaps some
of the "seasoned" milcom monitors would be able to catch the action.

So when you watch the movie, although fictional tomorrow night, just
remember that nobody
real thought a group of people armed with box cutters would lead to the
destruction of the
World Trade Center & attack on the Pentagon & deaths of all those innocent
people.
Fiction can become fact! We must never let down our guard especially in
the nuclear terrorist
threat potential!!!!
