Well, on the way home from work today, I swung by the new Army Reserve
Forces Medical Field Training Facility (Granby, MA)... No radio activity was
heard. No one was there!!! However, I did get a picture of the "different"
No Trespassing sign at this government training site/facility.
It wasn't 70 feet as I originally thought!!!!
Here's what's on the sign
GOVERNMENT
PROPERTY LINE
IS +- 7' 00"
FROM THIS SIGN
DO NOT
TRESPASS

It's for hobbyists personal use, not to be reposted to any groups,
publications, or data bases
without my specific approval.
I didn't see any antennas on the new training building yet (which you can
see through the trees in the picture). The building actually can be seen
better from the main road area adjacent to the town's Brown Ellison Park
(Carver St, Granby, MA) but at the time I took the picture because of the
sun I had to take another view. The park is also on the approach to runway
#23 @KCEF so offers some very good picture taken opportunities depending
upon the sun's position.
It should prove very interesting to try to monitoring with signal
stalkers/close capture technology once the facility starts to be used.
Right now in the town everyone is wondering when the military will start
using the facility including the media:

GRANBY - How soon military personnel will begin using a building still under
construction off Carver Street across from Brown-Ellison Park remains
unclear ...

(the news story actually can't be found).
Rumors have abounded as to what type of radio equipment is being used for
training. Some say that the less expensive FRS radios are primarily being
used. Others state the new Intersquad radios (300 mhz band) will be used,
while others state the the USA new VHF radio system (ICOM Soldier's Intercom
Radio) or now a new group of ICOM radios (military bundle F43G series) are
being used (Check out the press release at
