Hmm.. while pondering a bit tonight at the computer -- very little milcom
traffic (other than the typical base support P25 nets) & the weather here is
VERY COLD!!!! .. I got a brilliant idea... Why not in some area of the
country offer milcom/milar monitoring tour bus tours. Basically the bus
would be equipped with external antennas and ac power inside with some sort
of a little table in each seat to aid the hobbyists in setting up their
equipment. Oh, yes, I also think that a nice clear rest room would be
appropriate.
Where permitted the "monitoring" tour bus could stop for some "on scenes"
were permitted, or stop for a visit at various military base museums, etc.
(perhaps even get an on base military tour with coordination with the local
PAO) If "on scenes" were not permitted than the bus could continue to
circle the perimeter looking for opportunities for quick stop for an on
scene.
I'd would think that perhaps voluntary tour guides, experienced with
monitoring for the appropriate areas would be best.
Hey maybe even some of milcom/milair's finest writers & website masters
could be added to give a talk.....
So what do others think.. Is it worth perusing!!!????
May the "Eagle Eyes" be with you!!!
