[MilCom] Civil Air Patrol Not Called To Help Kim Tragedy

Don't know technically, but got to wonder if CAP's ARcher system would have 
been effective in this search mission.  See:

Should be VERY interesting to see what the final outcome will be when the 
review/investigation of the search procedures used during the Kim tragedy is 
completed.

Now for the money, frankly I think again a simple FRS radio "transmitting in 
the blind for help", with airborne assets having that comm capability also 
would have changed the outcome of this tragedy.

I'm very surprised that Midland Radio, Uniden, or one of the other major FRS 
radio manufacturers hasn't funded any independent studies to see how 
effective this ground to air concept would work using just these portable 
FRS radios to portable radios in aircraft/helos.

Well does anyone with an airplane want to fly in to see me at KBAF and we 
can run a test ourselves??
